Ends the XIII International School of Astrobiology "Josep Comas i Solà"
03/07/2015

With the delivery of diplomas to the students, chaired by the Rector of the UIMP, he finished the school of this year.

Every year in June, was held at the Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander, headquarters of the summer courses of the International University Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), the XIII International School of Astrobiology "Josep Comas i Solà" dedicated this year to theme "The origin of life. From monomers to cells" organized jointly by the Centro de Astrobiología (CAB, CSIC-INTA) and the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI).

After five intense days of presentations at a high level, on Friday it has completed the school of this year that has had the participation of about 40 international students who have actively participated in the discussions and have helped again this School it is a success. The speeches have also contributed to a climate of scientific debate and have provided the most complete and advanced vision of how life originated on Earth.

Besides the presentations, during the week that lasted School has been different activities such as a trip to watch the KT boundary, a public conference or marine observation session.

In the closing ceremony, presided over by César Nombela Cano, rector of the UIMP, the directors of the School, Javier Gómez-Elvira, by the CAB, and Victoria Meadox by the NAI, have delivered the diplomas to the students.
